Here’s the deal. I’ve written to you before when I had sonar 7 about this issue, it still exist in sonar 8.
· I have an Edirol UM3ex that routes my midi tone generator (Yamaha MU80) thru ports 1 & 2 of the UM 3ex for outputs of Midi
· I have a Roland drum set hooked up to the 3rd port of the UM3ex output and input of midi drums on port 3.
· My keyboard is routed thru the UM3ex port 2 inputs for recording.
On some songs things work relatively well. On other songs things go completely whacky all of a sudden in Sonar 8 and when I try to record keyboards (UM3ex Port 2) it also triggers the Roland drums (UM3ex port 3.) So both (ports) 2 and 3 of the U3ex are being triggered by the keyboards, but only on some songs.
Most weird I can close then open and/or switch to a different song and it doesn’t happen on the other song, I can play keyboards just fine without triggering drums sounds at same time- go back to the other song and it continues to be a problem with dual triggers. Also, if I switch drums sounds in the problematic song to be played by the Yamaha MU80 tone generator on the port channel 1 instead of the Roland drums on port 3, it won’t trigger the drums at the same time by the keyboards.
To sum up: Some songs are having keyboards and drums being triggered at same time on the two port channels of the Edirol UM3ex, yet if I switch songs it doesn’t happen. Please help this time! Instrument definitions are set right, ports are set.
